A portrait of Neth Sokha. Since her accident, the 28 year old garment facotry worker has been unable to return to work. She has been in the industry for 11 years.
Neth Sokha shows the scars from her injury due to a transportation accident.
A portrait of Chreng Saren. The 45 year old garment factory worker injured her fingers and bruised her ribs when the truck she was riding on to work overturned.
Since their accident, Chreng Saren and her daughter take separate trucks to work. If they were both injured and unable to work, there would be no one else to provide financial support for their family.
The conditions on the trucks are often cramped, with as many as 50 people fitting into one flatbed.
Workers arrive at the garment factory. Close to 40% of workers choose the cheap yet dangerous option of taking open topped trucks to work. With minimum wage being so low, $10 transport a month is many workers only option.
